What do YOU like best about DBZ?

My mood is: Esctatic emoticon Esctatic.

Seems like a simple enough question… what do YOU like best about DBZ? Oddly enough, there are so very many fantastic aspects of Dragonball Z that it’s a bigger question than one might think! Is it the massive, epic battles that you like best? The great turmoil between good and evil? Is it the incredible cast of amazing characters found all throughout the DBZ sagas? Or maybe it’s the storyline that appeals to you the most? Perhaps you’re a huge fan of the Manga? Or maybe you have every episode of the anime to watch over and over. Maybe you’re an artist at heart like me, and love to draw the characters?

Well really, for me, it’s very hard to narrow it down to just one thing. I first got hooked on the Anime, the storyline caught my attention, and the more I watched it, the more I really liked the variety of characters. Of course, being the huge Goku fan that everyone knows I am, I was struck with Goku’s strength, determination, and his honorable style. But as time went on and I started to draw the characters, I fell in love with it even more as I drew out scenes from each and every eposode. How could you not love those amazing battles? What action fan wouldn’t go nuts over the edge-of-your-seat battle between Goku and Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga, or the final battle between Gohan and Cell in “Save the World”, or the cooperative efforts of the entire universe in finally defeating Kid Buu! Whew!! So much to love in DBZ!

So I ask you…. what do YOU like best about Dragonball Z? Tell us! We want to know! Post your comments below!

Super Saiyan Forms… what do YOU think?

My mood is: Mischievous emoticon Mischievous.

Ok, as you all know, there are several forms of a Super Saiyan… First, you’ve got your regular Super Saiyan, where the power increases, the hair stands up and turns golden, and the eyes change to a rather teal color. Then there’s an Ascended Super Saiyan, different because the muscles bulge, and there’s plenty of power, but with the increased bulk comes slower movement… hard to dart around when you’re so bulky. Of course there’s a Super Saiyan 2, as we so often remember our young Gohan when he was battling Cell. The hair is more spikey and pointed, the body is surrounded by sparks, and of course he’s got the power of a SS2 as well. Next comes the Super Saiyan 3… very cool form. The hair grows to enormous lengths, the eyebrows disappear, and of course, amazing strength. I like the look of this form a lot, with he exception of the lack of eyebrows. Sorta creeps me out I think. But still an awesome form. Another would be the Super Saiyan 4. Interestingly enough, the tail is back, the body gets covered with fur, except for the chest area, the hair is shorter than a SS3, but longer than the regular Super Saiyan, and the eyes are a pretty Amber color. At first I was rather hesitant about this form, but later I really grew to like it. Or perhaps it’s just because I really like Goku, and I liked the whole ‘Goku as SS4′ thing on the show. But a cool form I’d say. One thing that I think was lacking in the anime was showing the actual transformation to SS4… seems to me one minute he wasn’t, then the next he was… no big transformation process like when he went SS3 (now THAT was exciting! I watched that over and over and over and over, it was so cool!) Now, we can’t forget the Fused Super Saiyan forms too! I mean, remember Gotenks SS3? And of course Vegito and Gogeta? I must say Gogeta rocked! He was ultimately cool in my opinion. Anyway, so many cool forms of a Super Saiyan to choose from… do you have a favorite? Or one that gets on your nerves? Go ahead, rant or rave about it! We want to hear your opinions!

Cell JR, Saibamen, and … Bulma!?

Okay, we’ve all played Budokai, Budokai 2, and Budokai 3, right? On another website (http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~vegex/index.shtml) There is a Rumor Guide that explains many rumors going around about DBZ. One of them says “The Budokai games are all rushed, unfinished products.” If you read more of it you find out that Budokai 3 has tournament announcments for Android 19, Zarbon, Dodoria, Shin, and Bulma. Although I don’t know who Shin is. Read more and you see that they found Audio for Kid Goku’s Dragon Universe. Well at least the beggining. Okay let’s continue. Next it talks about the first Budokai game. It has character announcments for Saibaman, Cell JR., and Kewi. Why are there character announcments if the characters aren’t in the game? Not sure. To read the full story and listen to the announcments and the beggining of Kid Goku’s DU go to eden.rutgers.edu/~vegex/guides/rumors/video_games.shtml

Budokai Tenkaichi

My mood is: Cool emoticon Cool.

Ok, I don’t know about you out there, but I’m anxious to see the newest DBZ videogame, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi. From what I’ve read about it in Game Pro, it looks amazing! The Ultimate DBZ Game, they call it. Just think of the possiblitities with over 50 Characters and over 90 forms to choose from! And it says you’ll be able to jump, fly and even fight underwater! New locations, even more anime-like visuals, and even more user friendly than Budokai 3. And it said the cut scenes are back! Players can experience close to 150 epic battles, from DBZ, GT, and the DB movies. Those ever-so-fun “What if?” scenes are back too! All I can say is I’m anxious to see it! Any comments from any of you DBZ gamers out there? What do you think?

My DBZ Artwork…

My mood is: Esctatic emoticon Esctatic.

Anyone who knows me in real life knows that I’m a huge DBZ fan, and that I love to draw. I even started my website, DBZ Dimension, as a place to host my DBZ drawings. Years ago, way back in 1999, I started doing my own drawings of the DBZ episodes that we were watching on Cartoon Network every afternoon. We’d eagerly watch the episode, then I’d figure out what would best represent that episode, and draw it. Well, I managed to draw around 500 of these ‘Episode Drawings‘ now, and I’m almost done with the entire series, only a few episodes left from the Kid Buu Saga still to draw. Drawing them and coloring them in has been a labor of love for several years now for me, and I hope you’ll enjoy browsing through my Gallery. If you have any comments on my drawings, if you enjoy drawing DBZ stuff, or if you have something to say about the greatest action Anime of all time (in my humble opinion that is!), feel free to talk about it right here!
